Experiencing Scripture

Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 1 Cor 10:11

Scripture is not just meant to be read, but to be experienced. We are to see ourselves in Biblical characters. For example, someone having a strife with their brothers may see themselves in Joseph or King David. We must remember God’s word is alive and brings internal change. The word is meant to be believed.

David said he memorized God’s word so that he would not sin against God (I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you 119:11).

When David did that he received protection against impure temptations. David did not need to grit his teeth and hope, he needed to read and memorize the Scripture to live out the Scripture. Regardless of the struggles, you have memorized Scripture about that struggle so that you can live out God’s promises.

Lord God give me the grace to live out your word. I need your supernatural power to live the life you want me too. Please help build my faith in You, so that I can in a way pleasing to you, (Amen).
