Who do you think you are?
It does not matter what you have been through or called you are not that. Christ defines you now. You don’t identify with your past; you identify with who you are in Christ. You don’t identify with your past, experience, a family of origin, profession, but with Christ(Phil.3:8-9). Many people identify with a traumatic experience and internalize negative emotions such as fear, anxiety, shame, guilt, and condemnation. The problem is many people internalize these emotions and make them into an identity. There are people that due to low self-esteem will call themselves “people pleasers.” Or, anxious or distrusting.
